Block knives for recycling and shredding machines
Block knives are high-precision instruments that crush materials of all kinds. Block knives come in numerous shapes and variants, adapted to the respective application. Economically relevant factors such as resistance, service life and throughput depend decisively on the materials from which the block knives are made. Very highly hardened chrome vanadium steel significantly extends the service life of the knives, but these variants can only be used for shredding material that is relatively free of impurities, because otherwise there is an increased risk of breakage. In contrast, block knives with a lower degree of hardening have a reduced service life, but are far less susceptible to breakage due to foreign bodies in the input material.
Concave knives
Concave knives have an inwardly curved surface. The outer sides of the knives are wider or higher than their centre.
