Who is AMNI

The AMNI brand has a long and ramified history. It has its roots in the foundation of A.Mengeringhausen GmbH & Co. KG, which was founded in 1864 in Iserlohn.  A company with a long tradition, which was founded More than 70 years ago, a successor combined the initial letters of his company A. Mengeringhausen Nachfolger, Iserlohn to form the brand name AMNI.

In the field of recycling technology, the company constructed and designed machines such as pre-shredders and post-shredders on the basis of many years of mechanical engineering experience. The principle with regard to technology was: robust and simple technology in harmony with innovation. Processing plants were planned, constructed and commissioned together with renowned partners.

It was not due to the quality of the machines that AMNI - A.Mengeringhausen GmbH & Co. KG had to file for insolvency at the beginning of 1997. In April 1997, Bergers Maschinenbau GmbH took over the complete design and production of AMNI. Bergers Maschinenbau GmbH was founded in 1979 by Dipl. Ing. Helmut Bergers as an engineering office. Since 1980 Helmut Bergers has been developing his own flock cutting machines for the international flock industry. As a founding member of the Verband der Flockindustrie e.V., the company set standards in flock cutting technology. In 1982, Bergers moved the company headquarters to Iserlohn. Due to the sustainable development of the company, Bergers Maschinenbau GmbH was able to take over AMNI 17 years later.

The management, the sales department, the plant management and large parts of the technology came from the recycling technology and brought many years of experience from this field into the company. AMNI continued to provide perfect service for recycling plant operators and became the undisputed market leader in the development and production of machines for the grinding wheel industry.

From June 2007, the company operated under the name AMNI Maschinenbau GmbH. It offered the innovative AMNI technology with the latest Siemens control technology and was available as a service partner for all AMNI customers.

The services

  • Recycling technology
  • Pre-shredders/rotary shears
  • Shredders/granulators
  • Abrasive industry
  • Film cutting technology
  • Flock and fibre cutting technology

Insolvency proceedings were opened against the assets of AMNI Maschinenbau GmbH in 2013. In 2018, the machine and plant manufacturer BREUER GmbH & Co. from Solingen secured the rights to market AMNI machines and opened the AMNI business division.

Due to their robust design, a number of AMNI pre- and post-shredders such as the Amni NGV 10/28 are still in use today. Since all drawings and parts lists have been available since 1950, repairing, overhauling or modernising these machines is a sensible alternative to purchasing new ones. Furthermore, it is worth considering a retrofit. In this case, a machine is completely disassembled, mechanically overhauled and equipped with a new control system based on CNC technology.
