Crown cutters, Concave shredders - areas of application
Cutting crowns are also referred to as shredder crown blades, concave cutters, crown style blade, to name a few. These blades are used in particular for shredding plastics, wood and other waste with slow-running single-shaft shredders. Crown cutters with a pronounced groove achieve the most aggressive cut possible on the material; slanted grooves with a high thread increase the stability and thus the service life of the cutting crown.
Case-hardened cutting crowns offer very high breakage resistance and are optimally suit-ed for shredding material rich in impurities. Through-hardened cutting crowns ena-ble a long service life and first-class performance in the shredder, but their use is limited to low-solids material.
