In the X-variant, the knife is made of tool steel, which is our standard variation in most applications. It is defined by a medium hardness.

This combines both toughness and wear insensitivity in a balanced ratio.

Due to the through-hardening process, there is a uniform hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures homogenous wear over the lifetime of the knife.

To avoid breakage and machine damage, it is important not to armour or weld on this type, as it will severely weaken the structure.
