Cutters in this W-variation are 5% softer in comparison to the X-option and have a lower susceptibility to impurities. This part is produced out of alloyed tool steel, which makes it suitable for demanding areas of applications. However this variant has a shorter operating time.
Due to the through-hardening process, there is a consistent hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures uniform wear over the lifetime of the cutter.
To avoid breakage and machine damage, it is important not to armour or weld on this type, as it will seriously weaken the structure.
Fastening in the machine:
The component has a drilling for attaching to M24 threads.
It is imperative that the cutter is only affixed to knife holders or knife crossbars with intact supports, as otherwise the attachment may cause breakage.
