Counter knives and scrapers
Counter-knives, also known as scrapers, play a central role in shredding re-cycling material. They form the counterpart to the cutting crown. Only if their angle to the rotor is set correctly can the cutting crown and counter-knife cut optimally against each other and achieve a good result.
Like cutting crowns, counter-knives and scrapers can also be optimised in terms of their shape and the material used in order to achieve the longest possible service life. Case-hardened variants prove to be advantageous for cutting materials rich in impurities and prevent chip-ping. If they are hard on the outside but very soft on the inside, counter blades can withstand even stronger blows without breaking out immediately at the tooth front.
