The X-variation of this cutting tool is made of tool steel. The option has a medium hardness and lays between the W- and Y-versions.

This combines both toughness and wear insensitivity in a balanced ratio.

In this variant, the products are hardened from the edge layer to the core. This means that the rotor knife wears homogenously over its lifespan.

To avoid breakage and machine damage, it is crucial not to armour or weld on this type, as it will severely weaken the structure.

 

Fastening in the machine:

It is imperative that the rotor knife is only installed to knife holders or knife crossbars with flat supports, as otherwise the attachment may cause breakage.
