The cutting geometry and the material used for constructing have a significant influence on the resistance and lifetime of the product.

In the Y-option, this cutting tool is made of alloyed tool steel. The stator knife in this variant is approx. 5% harder than the X-variation, which results in a longer service life. However, the texture is also more brittle. Due to that it can be more fragile if there is a high level of impurities.

Spare parts of this version are hardened throughout, which means that this hardness remains consistent from the edge to the core. Due to that the wear is homogenous in relation to its life span.

It is imperative to avoid the welding on or hardfacing of products of this variant, as the structure will otherwise be fundamentally impaired. Consequently, breakage and machine damage may occur.

Fastening in the machine:

When installing, please also assure that the support of the knives is in an undamaged condition, as otherwise breakage may occur.
