In the Y-version, this component is made of alloyed tool steel. The stator knife in this option is approx. 5% harder than the X-variation, which results in a longer longevity. However, the texture is also more brittle. Due to that it can be more fragile if there is a high level of impurities.

Due to the through-hardening process, there is a uniform hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures homogenous wear over the tool life of the stator knife.

Hardfacing or welding on this variant should be avoided, as the structure will otherwise be significantly weakened. This can lead to breakages and machine damage.

 

Fastening in the machine:

When attaching the stator knife, please ensure that it is only attached to knife holders or knife crossbars with an undamaged contact surface, as otherwise breakage may occur.
