Cutting performance and durability:

The cutting geometry and the material used for constructing have a significant influence on the resistance and lifespan.

In the Y-option, this cutting tool is made of alloyed tool steel. The stator knife in this variant is approx. 5% harder than the X-variation, which results in a longer operating time. Nonetheless, the texture is also more brittle. Due to that it can be more fragile if there is a high level of impurities.

Due to the through-hardening process, there is a uniform hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures consistent wear over the tool life of the stator knife.

We underline that this version should not be armoured or welded on. This has a negative effect on the material structure of the stator knife, which can subsequently lead to breakage and machine damage.
