Through the use of different materials and the variance in the cutting shape, the component can be matched to the operational scenario in terms of throughput and service life.

The X-variant of this cutting tool is made of tool steel. This option has a medium hardness and lays between the W- and Y-variants.

Here you are offered a beneficial compromise between resistance to wear and toughness.

Due to the through-hardening process, there is a persistent hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures homogenous wear over the tool life of the stator knife.

Hardfacing or welding on this variation should be avoided, as the structure will otherwise be seriously weakened. This can lead to breakages and machine damage.
