The wear and tear behaviour and thus also the longevity can be impacted by the material and the cutting geometry. This means that the performance can be well adjusted to the application.

This X-variation cutter is made of tool steel and corresponds to the standard variant in most areas of application. Consequently, it has a medium hardness.

This combines both toughness and wear resistance in a balanced ratio.

Due to the through-hardening process, there is a persistent hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures homogenous wear over the lifetime of the cutting crown.

Hardfacing or welding on this version should be avoided, as the structure will otherwise be severely weakened. This can lead to breakages and machine damage.

Fastening in the machine:

This component has a drilling for installing to M16 threads.

It is imperative that the cutter is only affixed to knife holders or knife crossbars with intact supports, as otherwise the attachment may cause breakage.
