Cutting performance and durability:
The wear behaviour and thus also the knife life can be influenced by the material and the shape. This means that the efficiency can be well adapted to the break down application.
Due to the alloyed tool steel of the Y-variant, it is approx. 5 % harder than the X-version. This means that a longer tool life can be secured. In comparison, however, the rotor knife is more predisposed to impurities, which can lead to breakage more quickly.
In this option, the items are hardened from the edge layer to the core. This means that the rotor knife wears consistently over its lifetime.
Hardfacing or welding on this variation should be avoided, as the structure will otherwise be fundamentally weakened. This can lead to breakages and machine damage.

Its cutting edge is inclined at 30°/45°.
