In the X-variation, this rotor knife is made of tool steel, which is our standard option in most break down applications. It is characterised by a medium hardness.

Here you are offered a beneficial compromise between resistance to wear and toughness.

Cutting tools of this variant are hardened throughout, which means that this hardness remains consistent from the edge to the core. Due to that the wear is homogenous in relation to its life span.

However, this version must not be armoured or welded on, as it negatively influences the structure of the components. Consequently, fractures and machine damage are possible.

 

Fastening in the machine:

The rotor knife is mounted right on the cutting device. The other parts of the set can be found under the accessories.

When installing the rotor knife, please assure that it is only fitted to knife holders or knife crossbars with an ideal contact surface in order to prevent breakage.
