Compatibility with machines:

The rotor knife can be installed in the cutting mills of the Dreher Maschinenbau brand.

 

Cutting performance and durability:

The cutting shape and the material used for constructing have a significant effect on the resistance and longevity.

Due to the alloyed tool steel of the Y-variant, it is approx. 5 % harder than the X-option. This means that a longer knife life can be secured. In comparison, however, the rotor knife is more susceptible to impurities, which can lead to fractures more quickly.

In this version, the components are hardened from the edge layer to the core. This means that the rotor knife wears homogenously over its lifetime.

Hardfacing or welding on this variation should be avoided, as the structure will otherwise be acutely weakened. This can lead to breakages and machine damage.

 

Fastening in the machine:

The rotor knife is mounted right on the cutting device. The other parts of the set can be found under the accessories.

When attaching the rotor knife, please ensure that it is only attached to knife holders or knife crossbars with an ideal contact surface, as otherwise breakage may occur.

This rotor knife is 190mm long, 57mm wide and 14mm high.

Its cutting edge is inclined at 45°.
