Cutting performance and durability:
The cutting shape and the material used for constructing have a significant impact on the resistance and product lifespan.
Due to the alloyed tool steel of the Y-variant, it is approx. 5 % harder than the X-option. This means that a longer durability can be secured. In comparison, however, the rotor knife is more susceptible to impurities, which can lead to fractures more quickly.
Items of this variation are hardened throughout, which means that this hardness remains consistent from the edge to the core. Due to that the wear is even in relation to its life cycle.
We underline that this version should not be armoured or welded on. This has a negative effect on the material structure of the rotor knife, which can subsequently lead to breakage and machine damage.
Fastening in the machine:
The rotor knife is mounted centered on the cutting device. The other parts of this set can be found under the accessories.
It is imperative that the rotor knife is only installed to knife holders or knife crossbars with intact supports, as otherwise the attachment may cause breakage.
