Cutting performance and durability:

The wear and tear behaviour and thus also the knife life can be influenced by the material and the cutting geometry. This means that the efficiency can be well configured to the application scenario.

In the X-variant, this rotor knife is made of tool steel, which is our standard version in most break down applications. It is defined by a medium hardness.

Here you are offered a good compromise between insensitivity to wear and toughness.

Due to the through-hardening process, there is a persistent hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures uniform wear over the tool life of the rotor knife.

Hardfacing or welding on this variation should be avoided, as the structure will otherwise be significantly weakened. This can lead to breakages and machine damage.

 

Fastening in the machine:

The rotor knife is mounted left on the cutting device. The other parts of this set can be found under the accessories.

When fitting the rotor knife, please ensure that it is only fitted to knife holders or knife crossbars with an intact contact surface in order to prevent breakage.
