Compatibility with machines:
This rotor knife can be installed in the Herbold SMS and Herbold SMS 45/60 machine models from Herbold Meckesheim.
Cutting performance and durability:
The wear and tear behaviour and thus also the lifespan can be impacted by the material and the cutting geometry. This means that the performance can be well adjusted to the application.
The rotor knife is made of tool steel and is thus assigned to our X-variant, which is the standard variation in most application areas.
This combines both toughness and wear resistance in a balanced ratio.
Items of this option are hardened throughout, which means that this hardness remains the same from the edge to the core. Due to that the wear is even in relation to its life cycle.
It is imperative to avoid the welding on or hardfacing of items of this version, as the structure will otherwise be severely impaired. Therefore, breakage and machine damage may occur.
Fastening in the machine:
The rotor knife is mounted left on the cutting device. The other parts of this set can be found under the accessories.
It is imperative that the rotor knife is only affixed to knife holders or knife crossbars with intact supports, as otherwise the attachment may cause breakage.
