Cutting performance and durability:

The cutting geometry and the material used for constructing have a significant effect on the resistance and product lifespan.

This alloyed tool steel is 5 % softer than the X-option and is therefore less sensitive to fractures. This makes this W-version ideal for applications where impurities are present in the input. In return, however, this variation has a shorter longevity.

Due to the through-hardening process, there is a persistent hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures consistent wear over the lifetime of the rotor knife.

To avoid breakage and machine damage, it is crucial not to armour or weld on this type, as it will severely weaken the structure.
