This rotor knife is made of tool steel and is thus assigned to our X-version, which is the standard option in most areas of application.
This combines both toughness and wear insensitivity in a balanced ratio.
Due to the through-hardening process, there is a uniform hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures persistent wear over the tool life of the rotor knife.
Hardfacing or welding on this variant should be avoided, as the structure will otherwise be fundamentally weakened. This can lead to breakages and machine damage.
