The component can be matched to the area of application, depending on the various materials and varying cutting shape.

Due to the alloyed tool steel of the Y-option, it is approx. 5 % harder than the X-variant. This means that a longer tool life can be secured. In comparison, however, the rotor knife is more susceptible to impurities, which can lead to breakage more quickly.

Cutting tools of this variation are hardened throughout, which means that this hardness remains consistent from the edge to the core. Due to that the wear is homogenous in relation to its life cycle.

However, this version must not be armoured or welded on, as it negatively impacts the structure of the products. Consequently, fractures and machine damage are possible.

The inclination of the cutting edge is 50°.
