In the X-option, the rotor knife is made of tool steel, which is our standard variation in most applications. It is characterised by a medium hardness.

This combines both toughness and wear insensitivity in a balanced ratio.

Due to the through-hardening process, there is a uniform hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures consistent wear over the service life of the rotor knife.

To avoid breakage and machine damage, it is important not to armour or weld on this type, as it will acutely weaken the structure.

The inclination of the cutting edge is 50°.
