Cutting performance and durability:

The wear behaviour and thus also the service life can be influenced by the material and the cutting shape. This means that the efficiency can be well adjusted to the application.

In the Y-option, this cutting tool is made of alloyed tool steel. The rotor knife in this version is approx. 5% harder than the X-variation, which results in a longer durability. Nonetheless, the texture is also more brittle. Due to that it can be more fragile if there is a high level of impurities.

Due to the through-hardening process, there is a consistent hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures uniform wear over the lifetime of the rotor knife.

It is imperative to avoid the welding on or hardfacing of items of this variant, as the structure will otherwise be severely weakened. Therefore, breakage and machine damage may occur.

Fastening in the machine:

When installing the rotor knife, please assure that it is only fixed to knife holders or knife crossbars with an intact contact surface, as otherwise breakage may occur.

General characteristics:

The measurements of the rotor knife are 485mm long, 100mm wide and 22mm high.

The inclination of the cutting edge is 50°.

As the rotor knife is part of our Eco Line, this component is a cost-efficient alternative to the Premium Line.
