In the X-version, this rotor knife is made of tool steel, which is our standard variation in most applications. It is defined by a medium hardness.
Here you are offered a beneficial compromise between insensitivity to wear and toughness.
Due to the through-hardening process, there is a persistent hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures uniform wear over the tool life of the rotor knife.
However, this variant must not be armoured or welded on, as it negatively impacts the structure of the products. Subsequently, fractures and machine damage are possible.
