The wear behaviour and thus also the lifespan can be influenced by the material and the cutting geometry. This means that the performance can be well adjusted to the application scenario.

The rotor knife is made of tool steel and is thus assigned to our X-version, which is the standard option in most application areas.

This combines both toughness and wear insensitivity in a balanced ratio.

Due to the through-hardening process, there is a uniform hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures consistent wear over the lifetime of the rotor knife.

To avoid breakage and machine damage, it is important not to armour or weld on this type, as it will severely weaken the structure.
