Cutting performance and durability:

The cutting geometry and the material used for constructing have a significant influence on the resistance and product lifetime.

The Y-version of this product is made of alloyed tool steel. In contrast to the X-variant, it is approx. 5 % harder and thus offers longer durability. At the same time, nonetheless, the susceptibility to impurities raises, which can lead to breakage more rapidly.

Due to the through-hardening process, there is a consistent hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures homogenous wear over the lifetime of the rotor knife.

We highlight that this variation should not be armoured or welded on. This has a negative effect on the material structure of the rotor knife, which can subsequently lead to breakage and machine damage.

Its cutting edge is inclined at R150/30°/45°.
