Cutting performance and durability:

The wear behaviour and thus also the lifespan can be impacted by the material and the cutting shape. This means that the performance can be well configured to the application scenario.

Due to the alloyed tool steel of the Y-version, it is approx. 5 % harder than the X-option. This means that a longer knife life can be secured. In comparison, however, the rotor knife is more susceptible to impurities, which can lead to breakage more quickly.

Cutting tools of this variation are hardened throughout, which means that this hardness remains persistent from the edge to the core. Due to that the wear is even in relation to its tool life.

Hardfacing or welding on this variant should be avoided, as the structure will otherwise be seriously weakened. This can lead to breakages and machine damage.

The inclination of the cutting edge is 45°.
