Cutting performance and durability:
The performance of the cutting tool depends primarily on the version of the material and shape.
Due to the alloyed tool steel of the Y-option, it is approx. 5 % harder than the X-variant. This means that a longer knife life can be secured. In comparison, however, the knife is more susceptible to impurities, which can lead to breakage more quickly.
Components of this variation are hardened throughout, which means that this hardness remains the same from the edge to the core. Due to that the wear is homogenous in relation to its life cycle.
To avoid breakage and machine damage, it is crucial not to armour or weld on this type, as it will acutely weaken the structure.
