The Y-variation of this item is made of alloyed tool steel. In comparison to the X-variant, it is approx. 5 % harder and thus offers longer durability. At the same time, however, the susceptibility to impurities raises, which can lead to fractures more rapidly.

Products of this option are hardened throughout, which means that this hardness remains the same from the edge to the core. Due to that the wear is even in relation to its tool life.

Hardfacing or welding on this version should be avoided, as the structure will otherwise be significantly weakened. This can lead to breakages and machine damage.
