Here you are offered a balanced relationship between insensitivity to wear and toughness simultaneously.

In this option, the components are hardened from the edge layer to the core. This means that the knife wears consistently over its lifetime.

Hardfacing or welding on this variant should be avoided, as the structure will otherwise be fundamentally weakened. This can lead to breakages and machine damage.
