Cutting performance and durability:

The performance of the product depends largely on the variant of the material and cutting geometry.

Knives in this W-version are 5% softer in comparison to the X-variation and have a lower susceptibility to impurities. The part is manufactured out of alloyed tool steel, which makes it perfect for demanding areas of applications. However this option has a shorter longevity.

Due to the through-hardening process, there is a uniform hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures consistent wear over the tool life of the fillet knife.

However, this version must not be armoured or welded on, as it negatively influences the structure of the cutting tools. Subsequently, fractures and machine damage are possible.

Fastening in the machine:

It is imperative that the fillet knife is only affixed to knife holders or knife crossbars with flat supports, as otherwise the attachment may cause breakage.
