Knifes in this W-version are 5% softer in comparison to the X-variant and have a lower susceptibility to impurities. This product is made out of alloyed tool steel, which makes it perfect for demanding break down applications. However this variation has a shorter tool lifespan.
Items of this option are hardened throughout, which means that this hardness remains consistent from the edge to the core. Due to that the wear is homogenous in relation to its life cycle.
Hardfacing or welding on this version should be avoided, as the structure will otherwise be severely weakened. This can lead to breakages and machine damage.
Fastening in the machine:
When installing the knife, please ensure that it is only applied to knife holders or knife crossbars with an undamaged contact surface in order to prevent breakage.
