The wear and tear behaviour and thus also the lifespan can be impacted by the material and the cutting geometry. This means that the efficiency can be well configured to the break down application.
The spare part presented is made of tool steel in the X-version, which is our standard variant for most areas of application. The hardness of this knife is in the medium range.
This combines both toughness and wear resistance in a balanced ratio.
In this option, the spare parts are hardened from the edge layer to the core. This means that the knife wears consistently over its lifetime.
However, this option must not be armoured or welded on, as it negatively impacts the structure of the cutting tools. Consequently, fractures and machine damage are possible.
