Cutting performance and durability:
The efficiency of the component depends chiefly on the variation of the material and cutting shape.
This X-option deflector wedge is made of tool steel and corresponds to the standard variant in most areas of application. Consequently, it has a medium hardness.
This combines both toughness and wear insensitivity in a balanced ratio.
Due to the through-hardening process, there is a uniform hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures consistent wear over the tool life of the deflector wedge.
Hardfacing or welding on this version should be avoided, as the structure will otherwise be seriously weakened. This can lead to breakages and machine damage.
When fitting the deflector wedge, please ensure that it is only fitted to knife holders or knife crossbars with an ideal contact surface in order to prevent breakage.

This deflector wedge is 573mm long, 100mm wide and 28mm high.
