Cutting performance and durability:
The cutting shape and the material used for constructing have a significant influence on the insensitivity and longevity.
This alloyed tool steel is 5 % softer than the X-variant and is therefore less sensitive to fractures. This makes this W-variation fitting for applications where impurities are present in the input. In return, however, this version has a shorter tool life.
Spare parts of this option are hardened throughout, which means that this hardness remains the same from the edge to the core. Due to that the wear is homogenous in relation to its life cycle.
To avoid breakage and machine damage, it is crucial not to armour or weld on this type, as it will seriously weaken the structure.
Fastening in the machine:
For attaching, the cutter has a drilling for M16 threads.
When installing the cutter, please ensure that it is only fixed to knife holders or knife crossbars with an undamaged contact surface, as otherwise breakage may occur.
