Cutting performance and durability:

The performance of this item depends primarily on the variant of the material and shape.

In the Y-option, this spare part is made of alloyed tool steel. The cutter in this variation is approx. 5% harder than the X-version, which results in a longer service life. However, the texture is also more brittle. Due to that it can be more fragile if there is a high level of impurities.

Due to the through-hardening process, there is a persistent hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures uniform wear over the tool life of the cutter.

It is imperative to avoid the welding on or hardfacing of items of this variant, as the structure will otherwise be severely weakened. Consequently, breakage and machine damage may occur.

Fastening in the machine:

The cutter has a drilling for fastening to M18 threads.

When fitting the cutter, please ensure that it is only fitted to knife holders or knife crossbars with a flat contact surface in order to prevent breakage.
