Cutting performance and durability:

The cutting shape and the material used for constructing have a significant impact on the insensitivity and service life.

Due to the alloyed tool steel of the Y-version, it is approx. 5 % harder than the X-option. This means that a longer knife life can be secured. In comparison, however, the knife with concave flute is more susceptible to impurities, which can lead to breakage more quickly.

In this variant, the spare parts are hardened from the edge layer to the core. This means that the cutter wears evenly over its lifespan.

To avoid breakage and machine damage, it is important not to armour or weld on this type, as it will acutely weaken the structure.
