In the X-variant, the cutter is made of tool steel, which is our standard variation in most break down applications. It is identified by a medium hardness.
This combines both toughness and wear insensitivity in a balanced ratio.
Components of this version are hardened throughout, which means that this hardness remains persistent from the edge to the core. Due to that the wear is even in relation to its tool life.
It is imperative to avoid the welding on or hardfacing of components of this option, as the structure will otherwise be severely weakened. Therefore, breakage and machine damage may occur.
