In the Y-variation, this component is made of alloyed tool steel. The cutter in this option is approx. 5% harder than the X-variant, which results in a longer durability. Nonetheless, the texture is also more brittle. Due to that it can be more fragile if there is a high level of impurities.

Spare parts of this version are hardened throughout, which means that this hardness remains persistent from the edge to the core. Due to that the wear is homogenous in relation to its life span.

Hardfacing or welding on this variation should be avoided, as the structure will otherwise be acutely weakened. This can lead to breakages and machine damage.

Fastening in the machine:

When attaching, please also ensure that the support of the cutters is in an undamaged condition, as otherwise breakage may occur.
