The wear and tear behaviour and thus also the lifetime of the product can be influenced by the material and the shape. This means that the performance can be well adapted to the input.

This alloyed tool steel is 5 % softer than the X-option and is therefore less susceptible to fractures. This makes this W-variation ideal for applications where impurities are present in the input. In return, however, this variant has a shorter tool life.

Due to the through-hardening process, there is a consistent hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures uniform wear over the service life of the cutter.

To avoid breakage and machine damage, it is crucial not to armour or weld on this type, as it will significantly weaken the structure.
