The wear behaviour and thus also the lifespan can be impacted by the material and the shape. This means that the performance can be well configured to the input.

Cutters in this W-variation are 5% softer in comparison to the X-option and have a lower susceptibility to impurities. This spare part is fabricated out of alloyed tool steel, which makes it applicable for demanding application areas. However this version has a shorter tool lifespan.

Due to the through-hardening process, there is a persistent hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures homogenous wear over the tool life of the cutter.

However, this variant must not be armoured or welded on, as it negatively influences the structure of the spare parts. Consequently, fractures and machine damage are possible.

Fastening in the machine:

For attaching, the cutter has a drilling for M24 threads.

When fitting the cutter, please assure that it is only fitted to knife holders or knife crossbars with an undamaged contact surface in order to prevent breakage.
