In comparison to the Y-, X-, W- and W9-options, the W8-version wears more quickly, but in return demonstrates high toughness. This option is resistant to many impurities and is accordingly ideal for applications with demanding requirements. This W8-variant has an advantage in terms of sustainability. This is because worn out cutting tools can usually be re-welded or re-armoured without resulting in breakage or machine damage. The material is a cold work steel.
