This alloyed tool steel is 5 % softer than the X-option and is therefore less susceptible to fractures. This makes this W-variant applicable for applications where impurities are present in the input. In return, however, this version has a shorter longevity.

Cutting tools of this variation are hardened throughout, which means that this hardness remains the same from the edge to the core. Due to that the wear is even in relation to its tool life.

It is imperative to avoid the welding on or hardfacing of items of this version, as the structure will otherwise be fundamentally impaired. Consequently, breakage and machine damage may occur.

 

Fastening in the machine:

This counter knife can be used for knives and cutters with a length and width of 60mm. Due to the wide range of shredder models, further configuration variations are possible.

It is imperative that the counter knife is only affixed to knife holders or knife crossbars with intact supports, as otherwise the attachment may cause breakage.
