Comparatively, the W9-option wears faster than the X-version due to its lower hardness. Also the insensitivity to impurities and the high toughness of the W9-variation is a noteworthy feature compared to the X-version.

Cutting tools of this variation are hardened throughout, which means that this hardness remains consistent from the edge to the core. Due to that the wear is even in relation to its tool life.

It is imperative to avoid the welding on or hardfacing of cutting tools of this option, as the structure will otherwise be fundamentally impaired. Therefore, breakage and machine damage may occur.

Fastening in the machine:

When fitting the counter knife, please ensure that it is only fitted to knife holders or knife crossbars with an undamaged contact surface in order to prevent breakage.
