In the X-option, this counter knife is made of tool steel, which is our standard version in most break down applications. It is defined by a medium hardness.
Here you are offered a beneficial compromise between resistance to wear and toughness.
Due to the through-hardening process, there is a consistent hardness from the edge layer to the core. This ensures homogenous wear over the tool life of the counter knife.
Hardfacing or welding on this variation should be avoided, as the structure will otherwise be significantly weakened. This can lead to breakages and machine damage.
Fastening in the machine:
The component is ideal for knives and also cutting crowns with the length and width of 110mm. With regard to the various range of models, other configuration variants can be realised.
When installing the counter knife, please assure that it is only fitted to knife holders or knife crossbars with a flat contact surface in order to prevent breakage.
