This B1-version is characterized by its insensitivity to impurities and high toughness. This follows from the high core strength of this option. Nonetheless, knives of this variant wear out more rapidly.

Products of this variation are case-hardened, so that the hardness is noticeably higher in the edge layer than in the core.
