Cutting performance and durability:

The cutting geometry and the material used for constructing have a considerable influence on the resistance and durability.

This alloyed tool steel is 5 % softer than the X-option and is therefore less susceptible to fractures. This makes this W-version applicable for applications where impurities are present in the input. In return, however, this variation has a shorter longevity.

In this variant, the products are hardened from the edge layer to the core. This means that the cutting crown wears homogenously over its lifespan.

It is imperative to avoid the welding on or hardfacing of spare parts of this option, as the structure will otherwise be severely weakened. Consequently, breakage and machine damage may occur.
