Due to the alloyed tool steel of the Y-version, it is approx. 5 % harder than the X-option. This means that a longer operating time can be secured. In comparison, however, the knife is more susceptible to impurities, which can lead to breakage more quickly.

Products of this variation are hardened throughout, which means that this hardness remains the same from the edge to the core. Due to that the wear is homogenous in relation to its life cycle.

We underline that this variant should not be armoured or welded on. This has a negative impact on the material structure of the knife, which can subsequently lead to breakage and machine damage.
